The Self-Projected Projector – In Human Design

Self Projected Projector Human Design

In Human Design, a Self-Projected Projector is one of the types of Projectors, which are one of the five Human Design types (Manifestors, Generators, Manifesting Generators, Projectors, and Reflectors).

Key Characteristics of a Self-Projected Projector

  1. Authority: Self-Projected Authority
    • The term “self-projected” refers to the type of authority that governs how they make decisions. For these Projectors, their authority comes from the G Center, which is the center of identity, love, and direction. This means that their best decisions come from a place of deep self-awareness and identity.
    • They must listen to their inner voice, often verbalizing their thoughts to understand what truly resonates with their sense of self.
  2. Role: Guide and Advisor
    • Self-Projected Projectors are not here to generate energy or initiate action. Instead, they are designed to guide others by offering their insights and wisdom.
    • Their unique perspective allows them to see how to improve systems, relationships, and processes, making them natural advisors.
  3. Strategy: Wait for the Invitation
    • Their strategy involves waiting for an invitation to share their insights or to step into significant roles in life (e.g., career opportunities, relationships). This ensures they are recognized and valued for their unique contributions.
    • Without waiting for the invitation, they may face resistance or feel undervalued, leading to bitterness.
  4. Decision-Making Process: Verbal Processing
    • Self-Projected Projectors need to talk through their decisions to gain clarity. This process helps them align with their true self and identity.
    • Having a trusted friend or a supportive listener can be beneficial, but the clarity comes from within themselves as they hear their own words.
  5. Signs of Alignment and Misalignment
    • When living in alignment with their design, they experience success and satisfaction, feeling recognized and appreciated.
    • When out of alignment, they often feel bitterness, which is a signal that they are not being seen or valued for who they are.

Practical Implications

  • Self-Understanding: Knowing they are Self-Projected Projectors helps them embrace their need to verbalize their thoughts and listen to their inner voice.
  • Relationships: They thrive in relationships where their unique insights are invited and valued.
  • Work: They are best suited for roles where their advisory and guiding skills are recognized and utilized.

Let’s delve more into all the aspects of this type of projector so you can know more:

How to Know if you are a Self-Projected Projector

If you have your Identity Center, G-Center, connected to your Throat Center and you do not have any of the motor centers connected to the Throat, then you’re a Projector with a self-projected authority. Only Projectors can have self-projected authority.

In Quantum Human Design Self Projected Projectors are also known as Orchestrators with Orchestrated Authority. Self-projected authority means that you have to “see” your decisions reflected or projected through others to get clarity.

What Does Self-Projected (Orchestratored) Authority Mean In Human Design?

Human Design will always boil down to following your strategy and authority. Out of the seven authority types, only three percent of the population has self-projected authority, and Projectors (Orchestrators) are the only Human Design type that can have it.

Self-projected Projectors need to verbally process information in order to gain clarity on a decision. The sound of your own voice brings you to the truth. It is best to use a trusted person as a sounding board, but you are not asking for their input. They can ask clarifying questions, or repeat back what you have said, but the clarity you need comes as you speak.

(Orchestrated) Self-projected authority isn’t immediate like a splenic or sacral response. Give yourself time to speak and talk things over before making any decisions.

What Is A Projector (Orchestrator)?

About 20 percent of the world’s population are Projectors. The gift of the Projector is to manage, guide, and direct others. The aura of the Projector says, “Ask me a question. I know the answer, and I would love to share it with you.”

A healthy Projector has no bitterness or desperation. They simply wait. An aligned Projector understands that confidence is quiet, and insecurity is loud.  When they are invited, others are guided and set free to make the best use of their energy and creative expression. The world flows in perfect order.

Most Projectors are socially conditioned to believe they are Generators, and they can really struggle to keep up. They believe that they can initiate and do more than they are really capable of. And they can, for short periods of time, because the Projector has an undefined Sacral, they can take in Sacral energy, amplify it, and do more than everyone else. However, the energy of the open Sacral is not sustainable, and the Projector who is acting like a Generator runs the potential of hurting their bodies and their spirits.

It is important for Projectors to understand that they are not here to work—at least not in the traditional way that we think of work. Working a regular, nine-to-five kind of job is not correct for Projectors, especially if the work is physical labor. Projectors are not lazy. They simply don’t have the same energy for work as Generators.

What Characteristics Does A Self-Projected Projector Orchestrator) Tend To Have?

The Identity Center (Calibration Center)

The Identity Center is one of the most important centers in the Human Design system. It is the center for love and direction, the place where the soul is seated. The liver is represented by this center. The Identity Center, sometimes called the G-Center, is the diamond in the middle of your Human Design chart

When you have a defined Identity Center, you are here to give love. Your sense of yourself is probably pretty solid. While you know who you are, and where you are going, you might not always know how you are going to get there. Individuals who have a full channel connecting their Identity Center to the Throat Center can be very vulnerable to criticism, as their creative expression comes straight from their identity.

The Four Gates Of Love

Gate 15 – Compassion

Gate 15 is a powerful, multifaceted energy. This is the gate of extremes— particularly extremes in rhythm. People with Gate 15 are always trying to find their rhythm, but it changes all the time. If they can find a consistent rhythm, it will be different and extreme.

Gate 10 – Self Love

Gate 10 is one of the most significant gates. It is rooted in the Identity Center (Calibration Center) and associated with empowerment. The energy of empowerment in this gate is given to the world by example.  Someone with this gate empowers others to live out their magnificence by demonstrating their own magnificence.

Gate 10 can be a difficult energy. In its highest expression, this is a gate of taking personal responsibility and acting in an empowered way.

In its low expression, it is the energy for blaming others and taking a victim stance. As this energy can be amplified by those who do not have it, the theme of blame can be prevalent in the life of the person carrying the energy of Gate 10. People with Gate 10 get blamed or blame others when they live out of their conditioning.

Gate 25 – Spirit

The challenge for people with Gate 25 is understanding why other people do the things they do. When someone with this gate witnesses something they perceive as not loving, they can be confused. But if they try to speak to the situation, they cannot change it. The challenge of this energy is to be love while refraining from spreading love unless invited. Again, there is no convincing or talking here—only being.

Gate 46 – Embodiment

Gate 46 is all about the physical embodiment of love. It understands that the body is a vehicle for the soul and is all about movement and living in the body. It is sensual, graceful, experiential, and grounded. People with this energy are deeply present to the body. This gate is not about predicting or forecasting. It is not logical. It is the energy of being and experiencing in the body. It is also about giving the soul expression, and this energy can give way to deeply expressive art and movement.

The Four Gates Of Direction

Gate 1 – Purpose

Gate 1 is a powerful energy that pushes on a person’s spirit if they don’t fulfill their need to express themselves creatively. This energy will wake you up at night with the thought that there is something you are supposed to be doing with your life, and if you don’t know what that is, you can become very anxious.

Gate 1 by itself is always seeking more energy to get this expression to the Throat. It may have to get it from others in collaboration, but it will not feel comfortable or fulfilled unless it finds a way to express itself.

People with this energy want to do more than volunteer for a blood drive; they want to change the world. And they have the motivation to do it, provided they use this energy correctly.

There is a tremendous amount of knowing in this channel. There is a knowing about the right contribution at the right time. Someone with Gate 1 may have to wait for recognition and the right energy to move the contribution of their soul out into the world. Waiting is hard, but it is crucial to have the correct impact.

Gate 7- Collaboration

Gate 7 is here to serve a leadership that is bigger than itself. Because it is designed to support the leadership, the low expression of Gate 7 often struggles to try to take leadership, but usually without much success. These are energies that have to be recognized and are, by nature, truly democratic in their highest expression. You cannot force leadership with this energy. It won’t last.

People with either Gate 7 or Gate 31 are recognized as natural leaders. It is quite common for them to be put into leadership roles by a group. That is where they are supposed to be.

Gate 13 – Narrative

Gate 13 is kind of magical. It’s an energy that creates a very interesting response in the people around it. Gate 13 compels others to share their secrets with them. If a person has this energy, people will tell them anything and everything—even people they don’t know. This is the energy of the listener.

When you have this energy, you are a storyteller, but most importantly a keeper of stories. As this energy is so close to the Throat Center and is part of an expressive channel, it is easy to blurt out other people’s stories and secrets, especially if the Throat is undefined. Keeping stories is a sacred job and one that ultimately holds the key to part of the story of humanity.

Gate 2- Allowing

Gate 2 is the energy for managing wealth. Gate 2 is not necessarily the energy for making money, but it likes money and the comfort of knowing that the financial foundation is secure. Gate 2 takes in the resources created by Gate 14 and allocates them in order to facilitate the expression of power.

The highest expression of this energy is about having, and managing, resources well so that you have what you need to make a transformative contribution in the world. Gate 2 manages resources so that wealth is available to create influence and get things done in a transformative way.

The Throat (Activation) Center

The Throat Center is the center for communication, as well as manifestation into action. The defined Throat Center is designed to speak, but how it speaks is controlled by what it is connected to.

Understanding where the Throat is connected is vital to understanding how you relate to others. For example, if your Throat is connected to your Ajna, you can speak your mind. If your Throat is connected to your Emotional Solar Plexus, you are able to talk about your feelings effectively.

For the defined Throat to be heard, it is vital that they enter into communication according to their strategy:

Manifestors (Initiators) and Manifesting Generators (Time Benders) can just talk, Generators (Alchemists) need to respond, and Projectors (Orchestrators) need to wait to be invited to speak. Reflectors (Calibrators) will never have a defined Throat Center. Effective communication is vital for personal and global well-being. Experiment with living your strategy and see how it improves the quality of your relationships.

Great Questions To Ask Yourself If You Are A Self-Projected Projector (Orchestrator)

Remember that for self-projected authority talking is always the key. Verbally processing information can be done with yourself, or a trusted companion. Next time you need to make a decision, ask yourself:

Does this fulfill my soul?

Will I be happy?

Does this choice put me closer to my goals?

Does this choice allow me the time I need to rest?

Will I have the means to express myself?

Will I be valued for the guide I am designed to be?

The Four Self-Projected Channels

The Inspiration Channel 1/8 (Channel of Self-Fulfillment)

Channel 1/8 is rooted in soul direction from the Identity (Calibration) Center and life force from the Sacral (Evolution Center). This energy contains pressure to make a creative contribution to the world. The channel of inspiration comes from the soul. It speaks from its identity and has a certain vulnerability associated with it. It wants to be accepted for who it is and be recognized for the contribution it makes. If it isn’t, it may never make its contribution.

People with this energy are inspiring and are here to be creative role models. While the contribution may not be entirely mutative, its full expression as a creative role model inspires others and can be the catalyst for mutation in the world.

The 1/8 has to develop its communication skills to be recognized correctly. With Individuality, we know this can be hard. The challenge of being an agent of change is articulating paradigms that are new.

The theme here is to express yourself (or not), but only when you’re recognized. If the 1/8 isn’t waiting for the right recognition, it runs the risk of sharing from that deep place of the soul and not being valued or heard.

The Alpha Channel 7/31 (Channel of Egalitarianism)

The Alpha Channel is about leadership. The leadership here has to be recognized, or it is not effective. This is not dictatorship or ruling by extremes. This is leadership recognized by the people based on its demonstration over time of its effectiveness.

The ultimate expression of humanity in groups is democracy, and the 7/31 will be called out by others. This is a leadership energy that is a result of a group of people agreeing to rule themselves. If someone with the 7/31 tries to force leadership, without first proving that they are an effective leader, they will quickly be ousted.

The Awakening Channel 20/10 (Channel of Self-Assurance)

Channel 20/10, the channel of awakening, is the last channel to evolve in human evolution. With this channel comes the perfection of the self in the now. This is the ultimate expression through Gate 20 of individuation. This is a totally projected channel of awareness. People with this energy have a deep capacity for spiritual awareness, empowerment, and self-love.

Channel 20/10 often serves as a teacher of self-empowerment and enlightenment, but these lessons can only be shared when someone asks for them. If a person with this energy tries to force their knowledge out into the world, they are often ignored or even perceived as being critical. This is even more important as a Projector (Orchestrator) because you must always wait for your invitation.

When the 20/10 channel is speaking and not waiting for recognition, it runs the risk of either not being heard or being criticized. If this has been your experience, you might find that you have shut down your personal and creative expression. Learn to wait, and the right people will always ask you for your insights.

The Prodigal Channel 13/33 (The Channel of Collective Consciousness)

In the 13/33 channel, we have the energy for keeping a history of the past. People with this channel often love history. They chronicle the journeys that have come before them. People with this energy are often the keepers of the traditions in their family. If this energy is missing in a family, they can sometimes struggle to have consistent family traditions.

In its highest expression, the Channel of the Prodigal looks back and remembers, keeping the history of life’s experience alive. In its lowest expression, it gets stuck in the past, always looking over its shoulder, worrying that the past will repeat itself. Because this channel connects the Identity (Calibration) Center to the Throat (Activation) Center, it is also vulnerable to the judgment and criticism of others.

What Percentage Of People Are Self-Projected Projectors (Orchestrators)?

Self-projected Projectors are rare, at only about three percent of the population.

Ways To Decondition Your Identity (Calibration) Center

Projectors live their lives at a slower pace than their energy-type friends. Because the Projector strategy, of waiting to be invited, doesn’t happen every day they need to make sure that their connection to our inner authorities is strong.

If you are a Self-Projected Projector you can strengthen your connection to your inner authority by deconditioning your Identity Center in the following ways:

Talk it out with yourself

If you do this out loud, you might want to be alone to avoid some strange looks. Strengthen your connection to your Identity Center by working through small decisions with yourself. “What do I want to eat for lunch? What activity would light up my soul today?”

Set boundaries

Your defined Throat Center wants to speak the truth. Truth can be a lot of things and it includes being true to yourself. Establish and maintain healthy boundaries that allow you to stay in tune with your inner authority.

This might look like turning down a dinner invitation so you can rest after work. Or saying that you need some time to process before responding to a proposition. Whatever the boundaries might be, practice staying true to what your inner authority shows you is best.

Journal

No one said journals had to be written on paper! Voice journaling is a powerful tool for you to exercise the power of your voice. You can talk through your thoughts, ideas, decisions, or anything else that is on your mind. When you release your inner thoughts you are allowing your Identity (Activation)Center to flow naturally without the mind trying to take over.

Tips To Optimize Your Self-Projected Projector (Orchestrator) Characteristics

As a self-projected Projector, it is vital to your well-being that you are in spaces, and around people, who appreciate you for you. When you are in alignment with your design you are a beacon and inspiration for others. While you wait for your invitations do whatever makes you happy and the right invitations will be drawn to you.

Self-projected Projectors are designed to be self-centred because your Identity Center is defined! This is not a bad thing at all (though you might have some social deconditioning to do around the idea.) Focusing on staying true to yourself will always put you in the right place at the right time.
